Rapé
Rapé (pronounced "ha-pé") is a fine plant powder from the Amazon. Our rapé is made by the Huni Kuin in Acre. Everything is done by hand. The leaves are dried, finely pounded, and further pulverized by the sun. Then everything goes through a large sieve. During the process, songs are sung and prayers are offered.
The powder is superfine, almost powdery. Almost every month a new shipment arrives, in small batches. Immediately after arrival, the rapé is placed in a dark bottle that blocks UV light.
Each label indicates the strength, from 1 to 7. Are you just starting? Then look at Tsunu, Rosa, or Murici. Not sure? Use the selection guide or start with a sample set.

Which rapé do you choose? From mild to powerful
Each type has its own character and its own strength. A higher strength is not better. It is a different character.
- You are just starting: Rosa (3 out of 7, the mildest), Tsunu or Murici (both 5 out of 7).
- You want to go further: Caneleiro or Mulateiro (5 out of 7), or Samaúma (6 out of 7).
- You are experienced: Murú and Buna Rao (7 out of 7).

How to store your rapé
Rapé is a fresh natural product. Moisture is its greatest enemy. Store your bottle in a dry, dark place at room temperature. So not in the refrigerator. Always close the bottle tightly after use. When properly stored, rapé stays good for 12 to 24 months.
