A fresh shipment almost every month

The difference

What makes our rapé special

Experienced users recognize it immediately: this is genuine craftsmanship.

Een hand in fijn rapé-poeder, met een afdruk in het poeder
01

Superfine

Rapé you see elsewhere is often coarser and grainier. Ours is extra-fine, almost powdery. That shows how much craftsmanship goes into it. And you need less of it.

02

Handmade

Dried, finely pounded, crumbled by the sun and sifted. Without machines, with song and prayer.

03

Fresh, made in small batches

A new shipment arrives almost every month, with all varieties.

04

Dark glass

Bottled immediately in a dark bottle that blocks UV light. Open it and you can smell how fresh it is.

Strength

How to read the golden diamonds

Each strain has a strength from 1 to 7, just like on the label. The more diamonds that light up, the stronger the blend. Not sure? Start lower and gradually build up.

Strength scale from 1 to 7, as on the label. More diamonds means stronger.

Strength 1 to 4

Soft and friendly

Gentle to get to know. Noticeable, but mild.

For example, Rosa (3) and Cacau (4)

Strength 5 and 6

Sturdy and balanced

Most species. Tsunu and Murici are strong, yet still a good start.

For example, Tsunu (5) and Samaúma (6)

Strength 7

Very powerful

Only for those who already know rapé well and are seeking depth.

Murú (7) and Buna Rao (7)

The Huni Kuin

The True People of the Amazon

The Huni Kuin are the largest indigenous people in the state of Acre in the Brazilian Amazon. They live along the Tarauacá, Jordão, Breu, Muru and Purus rivers.

From them Kevin learns how rapé is made and how to identify the plants. Going to the village is at the top of his list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer to your questions

What is rapé?

Rapé (pronounced "ha-pé") is a fine plant powder traditionally used by the Huni Kuin in ceremonies and meditation.

Which type suits me?

It is best to start with a milder variety, such as Rosa (3 out of 7). Tsunu and Murici are strong, yet still a good place to start. The selection guide compares them side by side.

What does the strength level 1 to 7 mean?

It is the same scale as on the label. The more gold squares, the stronger the blend.

How fresh is the rapé?

A new shipment arrives almost every month, in small batches. Immediately upon arrival, the rapé is placed in a dark bottle that blocks UV light.

How do I store rapé?

Cool, dry and dark. Always close the bottle tightly, as moisture is its greatest enemy.

Who are the products for?

For adults only (18+). Our products are sold as plant specimens for research purposes only.
