Story
7 Eva's rapé: the entire forest in one bottle
Strength: 5 out of 7. Character: deeply grounding, mystical, elemental.
Imagine this: you walk through the rainforest for an hour. You smell wood, resin, earth, blossom. You hear water, birds, wind in the treetops. Not one scent, but everything at once.
That is 7 Eva's. While most rapé revolves around one tree or one plant, this blend brings seven together. 7 Eva's rapé is made by the Huni Kuin, the largest indigenous people of the state of Acre in the Brazilian Amazon. It is a very strong blend. Full, broad, and deep.
What is 7 Eva's rapé?
7 Eva's is a fine plant powder with seven ingredients and three types of ash. You may also know it as 7 Ervas or Sete Ervas. Erva is Portuguese for herb. We deliberately keep the name 7 Eva's.
Rapé is pronounced as "ha-pé". That is why you also see the spelling hapé, and sometimes rapeh. The Huni Kuin have traditionally used rapé in ceremony and meditation.
The seven of 7 Eva's
- Tsunu: the ash of a tree found everywhere in Acre, the solid foundation
- Cumaru: from the forest of Acre, also available as its own rapé
- Murú: the ash of the palm Astrocaryum murumuru, where the name comes from
- Nissaral: a plant from the Huni Kuin tradition
- Buna Tura: a plant from the Huni Kuin tradition, which is also in our Buna Rao
- Caneleiro: Tsunu with the ash of Canela de Velho, the tree named after cinnamon
- Parika: with seeds of Anadenanthera and ash from the Paricá tree
Every maker of 7 Ervas uses their own mixture. What you see elsewhere is therefore often a different blend. These are the seven of our Huni Kuin.
How 7 Eva's is made
Seven ingredients, three types of ash. That means a lot of work. Everything is done by hand, without machines. Leaves and seeds are dried and finely pounded. The sun further pulverizes them. The ash is ground very finely. Then everything goes together over a large sieve, until it is one powder. During the work, songs are sung and prayers are offered.
Rapé you see elsewhere is often a bit coarser and grainier. Our 7 Eva's is superfine, almost powdery. With a blend with so many components, you can really see how much handwork is involved.
Freshly bottled
Almost every month a new shipment arrives, in small batches. Kevin does the final inspection. The rapé goes directly into a dark bottle that blocks uv-light. This way, the prayers and chants remain trapped in the bottle. Open the bottle, and you will notice how fresh it is.
Kevin has known the Huni Kuin for about eight years. He has daily contact with a Huni Kuin village in Acre, via WhatsApp and video calls. This is how he learns which plants go into which blend, and why. The rapé comes directly from them, without intermediaries. Going to the village is at the top of his list.
The Huni Kuin are also known as the Kaxinawá. They themselves choose the name Huni Kuin, "the True People". So do we.
"They get the price they ask. I never haggle. And besides that, a portion of the proceeds goes back to the village." — Kevin
How do people experience 7 Eva's?
With one plant, you often feel one thing. Peace, or focus, or grounding. With 7 Eva's, everything comes at once. And yet nothing dominates. The seven keep each other in balance.
Many people experience 7 Eva's as a broad cleansing. Not in one place, but on multiple layers at once. In your head, in your feelings, in your body. Whatever you carry with you can be put down for a while.
Then there is often a sense of coherence. What felt fragmented falls back into place. Head, heart, and body are once again aligned. Many people describe this as a feeling of completeness.
And because the blend is so strong, it is also deeply grounding. You sink. Deeper than you thought.

This is experience, not a promise. Everyone experiences rapé differently.

Frequently asked questions about 7 Eva's rapé
Is 7 Eva's the same as 7 Ervas?
You will find this blend also under the name 7 Ervas or Sete Ervas: "seven herbs" in Portuguese. We deliberately call it 7 Eva's. Note: every maker of 7 Ervas uses their own mixture. The seven of our blend are listed above.
What seven ingredients are in 7 Eva's?
Tsunu, Cumaru, Murú, Nissaral, Buna Tura, Caneleiro, and Parika. Together with three types of ash. Everything handmade by the Huni Kuin in Acre.
How strong is 7 Eva's?
The label states strength 5 out of 7. Yet Kevin calls it a very strong blend. This is due to the fullness: seven ingredients and three types of ash at once. Therefore, start small, with about the size of a pea per nostril.
Is 7 Eva's suitable as a first rapé?
Preferably not. Start with Tsunu, Rosa, or Murici. Already know rapé? Then 7 Eva's is a nice next step.
What is the difference between 7 Eva's and Tsunu?
Tsunu is one tree: solid, grounding, a good start. 7 Eva's has Tsunu as one of the seven, together with Murú, Parika, Caneleiro, and others. Therefore, it is broader and fuller.
What is the difference between 7 Eva's and Samaúma?
Samaúma revolves around one tree and one line, from earth to heaven. 7 Eva's is broad: seven ingredients that together form a whole. Samaúma has strength 6 out of 7, 7 Eva's 5 out of 7. Both for those who already know rapé.
