Breathwork and ice baths: what happens at Dip & Breathe?

Dip & Breathe in four photos: ice hole with head torch, group by a fire in the snow, northern lights and laughing swimmers

In short

  • Dip & Breathe combines breathwork with a cold dip, under guidance.
  • It is a co-creation of Purity Healing × Studio Purana: Kevin and Erik.
  • No competition. No forcing. Yes to conscious challenge and guidance.
  • You do not need any experience with cold or breathwork.
  • There is a morning in Nuenen and a trip to Lapland.

Imagine. It is a cold Sunday morning in November. You are standing at the edge of the water. Your breath makes little clouds. Your head says: don't do it. And yet you take a step. Then another. The water is ice-cold. Everything in you wants to go back. But you breathe. Slowly. And suddenly there is silence in your head.

That moment is what Dip & Breathe is all about. In this piece I will tell you what breathwork and an ice bath have to do with you, how a Dip & Breathe day unfolds and what you can do with it.

Breathwork and ice bath: why together?

Cold and breath belong together. When you step into cold water, your body reacts immediately. Your breath shoots up. You want to get out. That is normal.

With your breath you can bring calm to that. Exhale slowly. Let your attention drop from your head to your body. Many people notice that the cold then becomes less intense. And that something else remains: presence.

That is why we say: the cold is the gate. Your breath is the key.

No competition

At Dip & Breathe it is not about how long you stay in the water. It is not about being tough. You do what suits you, at that moment.

No competition. No forcing. Yes to conscious challenge and guidance.

Who is behind it?

Dip & Breathe is a co-creation of Purity Healing × Studio Purana. That is Kevin Lorenzini and Erik from Studio Purana. We have set up all Dip & Breathe events, in the Netherlands and in Sweden, together.

I am a ceremony leader and guide. Since the age of thirteen I have been researching the body, the mind and consciousness. Erik guides the breathwork. Together we provide the framework, the safety and the calm in the group.

How a Dip & Breathe morning in Nuenen unfolds

On Sunday 22 November 2026 there is a Dip & Breathe morning in Nuenen.

  1. Arrival. You are there between 09:15 and 09:30. We gather at the large parking lot next to the swimming pond, Enodedreef 3 in Nuenen.
  2. Landing. We land together in the group. You get a short explanation and we do a simple warm-up.
  3. The dip. Together we step into the water at Strandbad Nuenen. Under guidance and with attention to safety.
  4. Breathing. After that we walk about five minutes to the breath space. There we take an hour and a half for a guided breath session with Erik.
  5. Eating together. We conclude with a potluck lunch. Bring something simple and tasty to share. I make a fresh, plant-based soup.

Bring: your favorite tea, an extra towel for your breath mat, a warm fleece blanket and warm socks.

The event goes through in any weather. You participate for € 75 per person.

Is an ice bath something for me?

Many people ask that. The honest answer: you only discover that when you do it. But you do not have to do it alone.

Dip & Breathe is for everyone who wants to experience cold and breath. Even if you have never done it before. Some people are mainly looking for challenge and resilience. Others are looking for calm in their head or connection with nature. Everything is allowed.

Pay attention to your health

Do you have doubts about your health? Are you pregnant, or do you have heart or vascular problems? Then consult your doctor first. Let us know beforehand too. Then we look together at what is possible. You always listen to your own body, and you can always stop.

Breathwork, cold and rapé

Dip & Breathe is not separate from the rest of Purity Healing. Strength of the body, strength of the mind, wisdom of the plant. Those three come back everywhere.

Curious about the other side of our work? Read Kambo ceremony: what is it and how do you prepare? or What is rapé?.

Finally

An ice bath is a few minutes. But what you learn there, you take with you. That you can do more than your head thinks. That your breath is always there. And that it is easier together.
